Game of thrones - S8 E1 - The review (no spoilers)
The beginning of the end!
So the time is finally arrived, What is coming close to a 2 year wait has finally come about. The next 6 weeks are sure to be a roller coaster ride that we may not be ready for!
Excitement going into this episode was always going to be high, probably to high as historically the first episode of each season is the catch up and planting the seeds episode.
This year is no different, however what makes this season different is that our time away from the 7 kingdoms has been so long you have genuinely forgotten where some characters are.
The episode spends a lot of time in Winterfell as John snow and Daenery arrive following there travels last season.
There was a lot to catch up on in just over 50 mins yet somehow it works and there is even time to bring back some long forgotten characters.
Important information was also shared between characters which is likely to become key moving forward.
The only thing missing from this Episode was White Walkers, we know where they are but didn't really get to see much of them this week.
That doesn't mean they didn't find a way to shock us!
If this season really is a roller coaster ride then this episode was simply the big long slow climb before we head into free fall!
A great start!

So after all the waiting the hype and build up over what feels like forever we finally have episode 1 of season 8 of Game of Thrones! While not a massive episode in terms of action or spectacle it was a perfect opener that carries on right where season 7 left off. I cannot spoil to much in this review but my thoughts on how it would end have already been derailed with how it could possibly go and all the pieces are already moving into place and what this episode does paint a picture of is the sheer size of what this great show has become and what it’s ultimately leading too!

A great start but are we really ready for what is to come?
